Morocco- Latifa Akharbach, the head of the High Authority for Communication (HACA), shared their research on violence against women in the media. She made the presentation of their research report at a workshop held in Salé and drew attention to the alarming upsurge in violence against women.

Stating that the figures on femicide and violence against women in the report consist of the news compiled by HACA from press outlets, Latifa Akharbach said that the media outlets should investigate the scientific and sociological reasons for the increasing violence against women. “All press outlets should work to raise awareness against violence against women. Unfortunately, the press outlets don’t show enough awareness about violence against women in our country,” she said.
