News Center- The ongoing clashes and attacks in the Kurdistan Region cause an alarming rise in gender-based violence and femicide cases in the Kurdistan Region. The Kurdistan Youth Federation has released a written statement condemning the alarming rise in femicide cases in the Kurdistan Region.

“The perpetrators should face legal punishment”

In the statement, the federation demands that actions should be taken to prevent the killing of women and says, “Every day, women are murdered and their bodies are found dumped by the roadsides. The rate of femicide is on an alarming rise now. Femicide cases shouldn’t be covered up. The perpetrators should face legal punishment.”

“Effective investigations should be carried out”

The statement points out that no effective investigations are carried out into femicide cases and says, “Effective investigations should be carried out and the perpetrators should be prosecuted.”
