Kurdistan parliamentary election results announced

The Iraqi electoral commission announced late Monday the results of the parliamentary election that was held in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq on Sunday.

News Center- The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) of Iraq announced late Monday the results of the parliamentary election that was held in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq on Sunday.

 The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has emerged as the leading party with 809,197 votes, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) is in second place with 408,141 votes and the New Generation Party is in the third place with 290,991 votes, according to the commission.

 The election results in four cities of the Kurdistan Region are as follows:

Erbil

KDP: 345,822 votes

PUK: 110,353 votes

New Generation: 103,684 votes

Kurdistan Islamic Union: 24,065 votes

Kurdistan Justice Group: 20,191 votes

Helwest Movement: 16,736 votes

People's Front: 9,735 votes

Sulaymaniyah

PUK: 57,832 votes

New Generation: 136,131 votes

KDP: 57,832 votes

Kurdistan Islamic Union: 42,622 votes

Kurdistan Justice Group: 36,627 votes

Helwest Movement: 29,346 votes

People's Front: 20,300 votes

Halabja

PUK: 12,530 votes

Kurdistan Islamic Union: 7,847 votes

KDP: 4,940 votes

New Generation: 4,732 votes

Kurdistan Justice Group: 4,215 votes
