Kobanî - Kongra Star has launched an awareness-raising campaign targeting the prevention of femicide and child marriage in the Euphrates Region.

Kobanê Kongra Star Coordination member Majida Hesun pointed out that despite the positive developments in North and East Syria; hundreds of women are still subjected to injustice and violence.

“The aim of the campaign is to prevent all forms of gender-based violence, including domestic violence that deprive women of their freedom. If we, as women, organize together and have strong wills, we can have our freedom. We will hold meetings as part of this campaign and we call on women to participate in these meetings because we want to support them.”

Call for “asking for support”

Majida Hesun called on women to believe in themselves, take part in the events, meetings and workshops held by Kongra Star instead of bowing to the oppression and violence imposed on them, “Just ask for support, we will always support you.”
