Journalist Selda Manduz acquitted
Journalist Selda Manduz, who appeared in the court over terror charges, has been acquitted by the court. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) made a statement on its Twitter account and says we hope this sets a precedent for other similar cases in the country.
Kars- the third hearing of the trial against journalist Selda Manduz, who was taken into custody on October 1, 2020, in Kars province and then released by the court pending the trial against her on charges of “being a member of a terrorist organization”, was held today by the Kars 3rd High Criminal Court.
Selda Manzur and her lawyer Ömer Çapkurt attended the hearing. Selda denied the accusations against her and demand her acquittal. The prosecution also demanded Selda's acquittal. The court has ruled the acquittal of Selda Mazur.
