“Istanbul Convention keeps alive” banner hung on footbridge in Silopi

Free Women’s Movement (TJA) members hung a banner reading, “Istanbul Convention keeps alive” on a footbridge in the Silopi district of Şırnak province.

Şirnex  – Women take to the streets every day in Turkey to protest President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s decree withdrawing Turkey from the Istanbul Convention. The convention will expire on July 1, 2021. But women continue to raise their voices across Turkey. Today, Free Women’s Movement (TJA) members hung a banner reading, “Istanbul Convention keeps alive” on a footbridge in the Silopi district of Şırnak province to protest the withdrawal decision.
