Iranian children’s rights activist Samaneh Asghari arrested again
Samaneh Asghari, a children’s rights activist and an industrial engineering student at Kharazmi University, has been arrested and sent to Evin prison.
News Center- Samaneh Asghari, a children’s rights activist and an industrial engineering student at Kharazmi University, was arrested again on the evening of Thursday, September 14.
According to the received reports, Iranian security forces raided her home last night. After the search at her home, Samaneh Asghari was arrested and immediately transferred to Evin prison.
Samaneh Asghari was previously arrested on October 11, 2022 for supporting the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” uprising. On March 6, 2023, she was sentenced to 18 years and three months in prison by Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran.
As the first anniversary of the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” uprising is approaching, the Iranian government has arrested a large number of women activists and protesters.
