Iranian activist Khadijeh Mehdipour attacked in prison

Kurdish activist Khadijeh Mehdipour, who has been held in Ilam Prison on charges of “propaganda against the government”, “disrespect for the founders of the Islamic Republic of Iran” and “disrespect for the leader of Iran”, was reportedly attacked by three inmates being provoked by wardens.

News Center- According to reports we received from some local sources, Khadijeh Mehdipour has been frequently subjected to verbal harassment by prison staff and officials and the prison authorities have encouraged other inmates to attack her. Some other political prisoners in the Ilam Prison have reportedly also been subjected to attacks in the prison.

She was sentenced to 20 months in prison

Khadijeh Mehdipour was arrested in Ilam on October 10, 2021, without an arrest warrant by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. She was sentenced to 20 months in prison on charges of “propaganda against the government”, “disrespect for the founders of the Islamic Republic of Iran” and “disrespect for the leader of Iran”.
