Iran’s Revolutionary Court sentences 10 Baha’i women to totally 90 years in prison

A Revolutionary Court in Isfahan has sentenced 10 Baha’i women a total of 90 years in prison on charges of “Committing deviant educational or proselytizing activities that contradict with the sacred law of Islam”.

News Center- 10 Baha’i women were sentenced to a total of 90 years in prison by the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Isfahan on Sunday.

Neda Badakhsh, Negin Khademi, Yeganeh Rouhbakhsh, Yeganeh Agahi, Arezou Sobhanian, Shana Shoghifar, Mojgan Shahrezaie and Parastou Hakim have been each sentence to 10 years in prison on charges of “propaganda against the regime” and “Committing deviant educational or proselytizing activities that contradict with the sacred law of Islam” while Bahareh Lotfi and Neda Emadi have been each sentenced to five years in prison on the same charges.

The women have also been banned from travelling abroad and using social media for two years.

On October 23, 2023, these 10 Baha’i women were arrested in Isfahan by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces. They were released from Dolatabad prison in Isfahan after two months.

In August 2024, an indictment was prepared against them by Isfahan Prosecutor's Office on charges of “Propaganda against the regime” and “Committing deviant educational or proselytizing activities that contradict with the sacred law of Islam”.
