Iran: 16 young people tortured in custody
16 members of the Youth of Orumieh Neighborhoods were reportedly tortured in custody.
News Center- The Iranian regime continues to arrest, oppress and blacklist people to crack down the nationwide protests that started in Rojhilat and Iran following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini by so-called “Morality police”. Every day, the torture against those who arrested for participating in protests is documented.
In November, intelligence bodies arrested 25 members of Youth of Orumieh Neighborhoods and accused them of trying “to deceive young people and incite them [to riot]”. Iranian activists reported that 16 young people, including eight women, are currently being prosecuted in the case. According to the reports, arrested eight people, including two teenagers, were released on bail and are awaiting trial by the Revolutionary Court of Urumieh. 16 young people, including 15-year-old girl named Samaneh Fathi, were sent to prison. 16 arrested young people were reportedly tortured and threatened with rape to incriminate each other.
