International Women's Forum held in Algeria
The International Women's Forum was held in Algeria between December 11 and 12. The women, who met at the forum, discussed many issues such as working life, education, and women’s participation in decision-making positions.

Algeria- The International Women’s Forum was held at the Centre International de Conferences between December 11 and 12 by the General Confederation of Algerian Businesses (CGEA). The theme of the forum was, “The Role of Algerian Women in the Development of Society.” Representatives of 100 start-ups, 500 small enterprises, 500 institutions from the private and public sectors, and representatives of the Algerian community abroad attended the forum.
The Forum was held under the titles of “Women and Management”, “Women in Algerian Society and Their Participation in Politics, Economy and Decision-Making Positions”, “Women-Education-Training-Employment”, “Women in Creating of Excellence”, “Women and Business”. During the forum, the participants discussed how to build a dialogue bridge between universities and women investors in research and development (R&D) studies. The women also discussed how to provide legal support to women investors and women in business life.
Women talked about their role in the history
Saïda Neghza, the President of the General Confederation of Algerian Enterprises and General Manager of the SORALCOF Algeria Group, made the opening speech of the forum. Emphasizing that the Algerian revolution has an important role in the increasing of Algerian women’s participation in social and economic life, Saïda Neghza underlined in her speech that the forum was held under this basis. Stating that Algeria has laws protecting gender equality, Saïda Neghza said that Algeria needs social sensitivity for the implementation of the laws.
“We should be empowered”
Nabila Salem, Advisor to the Arab Women's Network, spoke NuJINHA about the contribution of Algerian women in the building of the country's economy. Stating that Algerian women have worked for years to improve the economy of Algeria, Nabila Salem said that Algeria women can improve the economy more. Noting that women should be empowered economically in order to ensure gender equality, she said, “It is important for women to have economic competence.”
“Women entrepreneurs should be supported”
“According to the figures, men are at the forefront in business life, technology, and digitalization,” Nabila Salem said, “But the number of women shouldn’t be underestimated. Women should be supported as entrepreneurs.”
