International talks from women of Kurdistan for Afghan women

Women of Federal Kurdistan Region held a series of talks with NGOs and international organizations to take action for Afghan women.

Hewlêr (Erbil) - The takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban has put women's lives in danger and threatened their rights. According to the reports, the Taliban force girls to marry their fighters, women are banned from going out, working, and traveling alone. Afghan women have tried to make their voices heard.

Women of Federal Kurdistan Region held a series of talks with NGOs and international organization to take action for Afghan women. The women held meetings with the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), the European Union (EU), the British representation and the countries’ female representatives in the region.

“We will prepare a report of the meetings”

Dabîn Dilsoz Zengene, one of the women, spoke to our news agency about their meetings. “As women of Kurdistan, we will prepare a document of the meetings we have held. We will always support the struggle of Afghan women. We will do our best to ensure that Afghan women do not feel alone.”
