News Center- An indictment has been prepared against Shida Saberi, a civil activist, actress and women's rights defender from Iran’s Yasuj city, for holding a sign reading “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” in a video message.
She faces prison sentences on charges of “disturbing public order and inciting people to riot” for holding a sign reading “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (English: Women, Life, Freedom)” in a video message.
Shida Saberi is one of the detainees from the nationwide protests in 2022. She was arrested in the city of Yasuj on September 16, 2023, on the anniversary of nationwide protests that sparked in Rojhelat and Iran following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini by Iran’s so-called “morality police” on September 16, 2022. Several days later, she was released from prison.
