News Center- The uprising that started in Iran and Rohjilat Kurdistan following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini, is in its seventh month.  Norway-based Iran Human Rights (IHR) has released a report on the ongoing protests across the country. Since the start of the nationwide protests in Iran, at least 537 people have been killed by state forces, the report said.

The most deaths took place in late September

The IHR also said in the report that the Islamic Republic has also executed four protesters after show trials and without due process. “In the same time period, at least 309 people were executed across Iran which the international community has failed to react to. Of those, 180 were executed for drug-related charges,” the report said. The most deaths took place in late September with 223 killed; 100 were killed in October, 173 people were killed in November and 25 people were killed in December, according to the report.

Emphasising that the Islamic Republic uses the death penalty as a tool of intimidation, the report said that five people were executed between September 17-30, 30 people were executed in October, 57 were executed in November and 72 were executed in December.
