Kabul- Yalda Ahmad, an Afghan psychologist and activist, sent a message condemning the assassination of Kurdish politician Firyal Silêman Xalid in Kirkuk on January 18, 2024.

The message emphasized that the aim of the assassination of Kurdish politician Firyal Silêman Xalid was to prevent women’s struggle for freedom. “Such attacks aim to prevent women’s freedom movement. But all the fundamentalist parties and their supporters should know that the more freedom fighters are killed, the more freedom fighters are born. Their successors will not stop holding their flag high.”

The message continues as follows: “As Afghan women, we have a common pain with our Iranian and Kurdish sisters. We all suffer from a cancerous tumor called fundamentalists such as the Akhund, Mullahs, ISIS, Taliban and Al-Qaeda. They have killed thousands and women’s struggle is their enemy. If we, as women all over the world, unite, we can be stronger. As women sharing a common pain, we can learn from each other's struggle and be role model. I declare that I stand with the Kurdish, Iranian and Afghan women and I believe that women will achieve victory. Long live the solidarity of all women against Islamic fundamentalists!”
