Hunger strike by KJAR in Berlin in solidarity with Warisha Moradi
The East Kurdistan Free Women Society (KJAR) has started a rotating hunger strike in Berlin to be in solidarity with Warisha Moradi and political prisoners in Iran.
News Center- The East Kurdistan Free Women Society (KJAR) has started a rotating hunger strike in Berlin, Germany, on Friday to be in solidarity with Warisha Moradi and political prisoners in Iran and to draw attention to the situation of political prisoners in Iran.
Warisha Moradi, a women’s rights defender and member of the East Kurdistan Free Women Society (KJAR), was arrested on August 1, 2023 by Iranian security forces in Sanandaj. She was subjected physical and physiological torture for months. She faces charges of ‘armed rebellion against the state’.
On August 4, 2024, She did not attend her own trial in solidarity with death row prisoners Sharifeh Mohammadi and Pakhshan Azizi
She went on an indefinite hunger strike in Evin prison on October 10, marking the World Day against the Death Penalty, to protest the death penalty in Iran.
On October 25, 2024, the KJAR released a statement, calling on Warisha Moradi, women’s rights defender imprisoned in Evin prison, to end her hunger strike. “Our committees will continue her hunger strike. We announce that we will start a rotating hunger strike in various countries in Europe to support Warisha and all political prisoners in Iran,” the statement said.
