Humanity sold for $40 in Afghanistan!

The existence of families who want to sell their children for economic reasons in Afghanistan is a shame for humanity. “We sell our children for 4,000 Afghani ($40) to those who can look after them,” An Afghan family posted on social media.

News Center- Millions of Afghans live below the hunger line in the country, where the civil war and economic crisis being deepened after the Taliban took the control of Afghanistan. Thousands of people, who left their homes due to the war and have lived in camps in many cities of Afghanistan, have not received any aids provided by the international aid organizations for the last three months.

Poverty in the country affects children

In the past few weeks, many press outlets reported that families who could not take care of their children due to poverty sold their children. “I have five children, including a daughter. I am ready to sell my children. I am ready to sell them for 4,000 Afghani ($40) to those who can look after them. If they continue to live with me, they will have no future. I have to leave them or they will starve,” an Afghan family posted on social media. This post is actually a shame of humanity.

WFP: Millions of Afghans will face starvation

Last month, the UN World Food Programme (WFP) announced that millions of Afghans will face starvation this winter unless urgent action is taken. More than half the population, about 22.8 million people, face acute food insecurity, while 3.2 million children under five could suffer acute malnutrition, the WFP said.

Many Afghan families, who cannot food for their children, leave their children at hospitals or try to sell them.
