Hora Nikbakht temporarily released from Evin prison

Hora Nikbakht, a publisher, editor, and women's rights activist, was temporarily released from Evin Prison on Wednesday, chanting the “Kurdistan, Kurdistan, the cemetery of fascism” and “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” slogans.

News Center- Hora Nikbakht, a publisher, university lecturer, editor, and women's rights activist, was temporarily released from Evin Prison on Wednesday for three days, Hora Nikbakht said in a post on Instagram.

After being released, the political prisoner chanted the “Kurdistan, Kurdistan, the cemetery of fascism” and “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” slogans in front of Evin prison.

On June 12, 2024, Hora Nikbakht was arrested after appearing at Branch 3 of the Evin Prosecutor’s Office and transferred to the women’s ward of Evin Prison. In July 10,2024, she was sentenced to one year in prison on charges of “propaganda against the regime” and “insulting the Supreme Leader” by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran.
