Gaza- The Centre for Women's Legal Researches and Consulting (CWLRC) organized an activity yesterday (December 7). The CWLRC’s members wearing orange clothes or scarves wrote, “We are here to protect you” on the seashore of the Gaza Strip as part of the 16 Days of Activism campaign. Many feminist organizations participated in the activity.
“Many women and girls have been subjected to domestic violence in Gaza. We wanted to inform women that our centre has provided legal and social support for them. Our centre also provides shelter for women, victims of violence. We chose the seashore to organize the activist because it is a public space. We wanted to raise awareness of the public against gender-based violence,” said Wafaa Hilles, the project's coordinator of the Centre for Women's Legal Researches and Consulting (CWLRC).
