Gaza: Epidemic diseases detected in 3,150 people, mostly children
Various epidemic diseases have been detected in more than 3.000 people, most of them children, in Gaza.
News Center- Since the “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood” launched by Hamas on Israel on October 7, Israel has been carrying out attacks on the Gaza Strip, targeting civilian settlements. The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that many epidemic diseases such as scabies, diarrhea, chicken pox, skin diseases and bronchitis have been detected.
3,150 cases detected
“3,150 cases of the epidemic diseases, mostly in children, were detected in the health centers in the Gaza Strip in one day,” the health ministry said. Pointing out that this situation is due to the lack of drinking water and water in general for cleaning, the ministry said, “Epidemic diseases are spreading due to the crowded shelter centers.”
Noting that the situation in hospitals is deteriorating, the ministry warned of “a large wave of epidemics that will hit the Gaza Strip and whose spread will not be able to be controlled.”
Hospitals stop some services
According to the BBC, hospitals in Gaza are stopping all but emergency services as fuel runs out. Speaking to BBC Radio 4's Today program from Jerusalem, Dr. Richard Peeperkorn, from the World Health Organization, said, “The hospitals we work with, they all run the generator at minimum levels, only for life-saving operations.”
Death toll rises to 7,191
According to Israeli authorities, 1,405 Israelis, including 304 soldiers, were killed and 3,968 Israelis were injured in the Hamas assault on Israel. Since October 7, 5,791 Palestinians, including 2,360 children and 1,292 women have been killed and 16,297 Palestinians have been injured in Israel attacks on Gaza.
