Future Syria Party launches campaign in Raqqa to support women
The Future Syria Party, based in NE Syrian city Raqqa, released a statement to launch the "Organize...Resist...Achieve Freedom" campaign.
Raqqa – Yesterday, (May 31), the Future Syria Party announced that they will launch a campaign today, (June 1) to support women
As part of the campaign, many activities and events, including meetings, seminars, workshops, training, and marches to raise awareness about women's rights, empower women’s participation in politics and social life in the regions occupied by the Turkish state.
"The aim of the campaign is to speak out against Turkish occupation attacks in NE Syria, particularly against women," said Ghalia Kajwan, a spokesperson of the Future Syria Party's Women's Council.
"We are going to launch the campaign to educate the community about the phenomena of femicide and violence against women" she added, "and to struggle against the use of drugs among young people."
Stating that the campaign will continue for one and a half months, she said, “As part of the campaign, many awareness-raising workshops will be organized for women across NE Syria.”
"This campaign is really important for all women," Ghalia Kajwan said in the statement, "because we say through it that we reject what women have been facing such as rape, murder and kidnapping.”
