First Congress of Syrian Free Women’s Foundation starts
Syrian Free Women’s Foundation has held its first congress with the participation of 200 delegations with the motto, “There is a free world and a life that must be realized.
Qamishlo - Syrian Free Women’s Foundation has held its first congress at Rojava University located in Qamishlo with the participation of 200 delegations with the motto, “There is a free world and a life that must be realized”. The photographs of women, who lost their lives for the liberation of Rojava and banners reading, “Free women will form the foundation of a free society” and “There is a free world and a life that must be realized” have been hung on the walls of the conference hall. The congress started with a video including information about the foundation.
“It is time to make it heard all around the world”
Remziye Mihemed, representative of Kongreya Star in Rojava, made an opening speech after the video show. She said that the foundation has been active for seven years. Stating that they have long-term experiences and that they are ready to spread their experiences, Remziye Mihemed said, “It is time to make the foundation heard all around the world.”
After the speeches, congress will continue as closed to the press to discuss the rules and regulations of the foundation. The congress will end after the election of five administrators.
Free Women’s Foundation
The foundation was found in 2014 with the motto, “Free women, Free society”. The foundation has carried out active works across Syria, particularly in NE Syria. It has been working for women in 10 cantons and their districts and four refugee camps. The foundation has been recognized by 40 international NGOs and it has carried out its works coordinately with NGOs in the region.
