Final declaration of 2nd MENA Women's Conference announced

Beirut- The 2nd Middle East and North Africa Women's Conference was held in Beirut with the motto, “We will carry out the democratic revolution with women’s unity” between 30 and 31 July. 100 delegates from 18 countries attended the conference while 30 women attended the conference via Zoom. The women announced the final declaration of the conference and decided to form “The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Democratic Women's Alliance”.
During the conference, women discussed many issues such as war and conflicts that women in the Middle East and North Africa region have been subjected to. The women drew attention to the reflections of forced displacement on women, femicides, and the increase in violence against women, the importance of the remarkable progress in women's struggles.
The decisions taken by women during the conference are as follows;
“* The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Democratic Women's Alliance will be announced. A women’s comprehensive strategic vision, aiming to build a society based on international human rights and freedom, democracy, and effective equality will be formed.
*A regional women's committee for the six-month period will be formed to set a vision, objectives, and work strategy, and to develop a roadmap.
*Participate in all efforts to struggle against all forms of occupation and attacks on women such as human trafficking, forced displacement, political assassinations, and the spread of illiteracy, poverty, unemployment, marginalization, and social exclusion.
*Struggling against the masculine mindset and its means excluding women from decision-making positions such as cultural heritage, traditions, and customs.
*Expanding the relationship among women and working to promote different cultures.
*Forming local, regional, and international networks to share experiences.
