Fatma Şengül murder trial to be held today

Zeynel Akbaş killed his colleague Fatma Şengül. The court reduced his sentence for the unjust provocation. The attorneys objected to the court decision. The murder trial will be held today by the Court of Appeals.
News Center- Fatma Şengül was killed by her colleague Zeynel Akbaş in front of her house in the Gülensu neighborhood of Istanbul’s Maltepe district on March 30, 2019. He was arrested after killing Fatma Şengül.
The court sentenced Zeynel Akbaş to 18 years in prison by reducing his prison sentence for “Unjust provocation” on December 19, 2019. The attorneys raised an objection against the judge's ruling and demanded Zeynel Akbaş to be charged with “knowingly and willingly killing”. The trial will be held today by the Court of Appeals.
