News Center - Turkey withdrew from the Istanbul Convention by a presidential decree. The convention will expire in the country on July 1. Many female artists, journalists, and writers in the country have launched a social media campaign for the Istanbul Convention. Artists Ayşenil Şamlıoğlu, Deniz Çakır, Leyla Selen Uçer, journalists Şirin Payzın, Melis Alphan, Ece Temelkuran, and many more women shot a video and shared them on their social media account. In their videos, the women read the names of victims of femicides in Turkey and say, “The Istanbul Convention belongs to all of us. Speak out for the Istanbul Convention.”
