News Center-Ahead of the one-year anniversary of the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” uprising that started in Iran and Rojhelat following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini, the oppression of the Iranian regime against the victims’ families has intensified.

According to the received reports, the parents and sister of Hananeh Kia were arrested and taken to unknown locations by Iranian security forces yesterday. The reason for the arrest of her mother Masoumeh Azari, her sister Helia Kia, and her father Vahid Kia is still unknown.

23-year-old Hananeh Kia was shot dead by Iranian security forces in Nowshahr in 2022 as she made her way home from a dentist's appointment.

On August 27, eight activists were arrested by Iranian security forces in the cities of Tabriz, Ardabil, and Mianeh for protesting the desiccation of Lake Urmia and the government agencies' failure to address the lake's condition. Activist Zolaikha Q. Zadeh is among the arrested activists.
