Erciş Co-mayor Yıldız Çetin: I have been unfairly held in prison

Fifth hearing of trial opened against jailed Erciş Municipality Co-mayor Yıldız Çetin was held today by 5th High Criminal Court in Van province. The prosecutor’s office has demanded prison sentence against her allegedly for “being a member of a (terrorist) organization”. The next hearing will be held on April 15.
Van – The fifth hearing of trial opened against dismissed Peoples’ Democratic Party’s (HDP) Erciş Municipality Co-mayor Yıldız Çetin on terror charges was held today by the 5th High Criminal Court in Van province. Yıldız Çetin joined the hearing through Audio-Visual Information System (SEGBİS) from Osmaniye T Type Prison. Her lawyers and the party’s members attended the hearing.
“Concrete evidences should be taken into account”
“I don’t accept testimonies by secret witnesses,” Yıldız Çetin said, “I did nothing except of implementing legal regulations. I have been unfairly imprisoned away from my hometown for 17 months. The concrete evidences in the file should be taken into account.” Her lawyers demanded Yıldız to be acquitted. 
Next hearing to be held on April 15
The prosecutor’s office has demanded prison sentence against her allegedly for “being a member of a (terrorist) organization”. The court has postponed the trial on April 15.
