Emine Şenyaşar to appear in court on 249th day of her protest
Today, Emine Şenyaşar will appear in court for allegedly “insulting” AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız.
Riha– The sit-in protest staged in front of Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, has entered its 249th day. Today, Emine Şenyaşar will appear in court at 14: 00 for allegedly “insulting” AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız.
“Do the prosecutors have the power to only judge my mother?”
Ferit Şenyaşar reacted to the unfair trial against his mother and said, “Every day, a new unlawful practice goes down in history under the rule of the AKP. Today, my mother will appear in court. The massacre at the Suruç State Hospital was carried out before my mother. My mother has cried and lamented since then. She identified who committed the massacre at the hospital. Three years and five months have passed since the massacre but no one has been arrested until now. If the prosecutors find a crime committed by my mother, she will confess and demand to be punished. While my mother will appear in court, why is no one summoned to testify about killing our three members? Do you call this justice? Do the prosecutors have the power to only judge my mother? No one takes on responsibility because the perpetrators of the massacre are under the control of the Member of Parliament. The prosecutors have no will and the cruelty against us continues.”
