Emine Şenyaşar's sit-in protest for justice continues

The sit-in protest in front of Urfa Courthouse staged by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two children were killed by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP Ibrahim Halil Yıldız, has continued for eight days. Today, police try to take the family away from the courthouse but Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar are determined to keep protesting.
Rıha - On June 14, 2018, the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP Ibrahim Halil Yıldız killed four members of Şenyaşar family in the Suruç district of Urfa province during the campaign for the General Election held on 24 June 2018 in Turkey. Emine Şenyaşar lost her husband and two children in the attack. She has staged a sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse to demand justice for her dead relatives with her son Ferit Şenyaşar for eight days.

Today, Emine Şenyaşar came to in front of the courthouse with her son Ferit Şenyaşar again. She staged the sit-in protest by sitting on the stairs of the courthouse in the morning and lamented for a long time for her murdered son and husband. Women of Urfa, who saw Emine Şenyaşar sitting on the stairs of the courthouse, said “What a shame!” and supported her protest.
An attempt to take her away from the courthouse
Shortly after Emine Şenyaşar started her protest, police officers tried to take the family away from the courthouse. Family members reacted to the police officers and told them, “Go and find the killers, don’t take us away, where is the prosecutor?” The people in front of the courthouse supported Emine Şenyaşar.
