Emine Şenyaşar’s husband and two sons were killed by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP Ibrahim Halil Yıldız in Suruç district of Urfa province just before the general elections held in Turkey on June 24, 2018. Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have held a sit-in protest in front of Urfa Courthouse demanding justice since March 9. In the early morning, they came in front of the courthouse to hold their sit-in protest.

The family posted a tweet and thanked Mardin Şahmaran Women's Platform members for their visit, “Remaining silent against persecution means being a party to the persecution. Let's be a voice against persecution and injustice,” says the tweet.
