News Center_The repercussions of the war in Sudan continue to worsen as clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces(RSF)expand,leading to rising casualties and widespread infrastructure destruction, alongside massive waves of displacement threatening the humanitarian situation and pushing the country toward a deepening crisis.

Nine civilians were killed in a drone attack carried out by the Rapid Support Forces on the village of Al-Jamama in North Kordofan yesterday, Wednesday, July 29, according to a medical source, who noted that the bombardment of the village killed 9 people and injured 14 others.

The Al-Jamama area, northwest of the city of Bara, saw a wave of human rights condemnation after violations against civilians were documented, according to a statement by the "Emergency Lawyers" group, which said that Rapid Support Forces fighters carried out assaults on residents and homes, in addition to looting and destruction that affected Al-Jamama market.

Fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces has intensified since the latter took control of the Darfur region in the west, relying primarily on drones that have killed more than a thousand Sudanese across the country since the start of this year, according to the United Nations.

The repercussions of the war that erupted in Sudan in April 2023 continue, having caused human losses and destruction, with UN estimates indicating thousands of dead and wounded across various regions, while military operations have hit critical infrastructure including hospitals, roads, and electricity and water networks, paralyzing essential services that civilians rely on in their daily lives.    

As fighting between the warring parties has spread, waves of internal and external displacement have intensified, with the number of people fleeing conflict zones reaching millions, amid international warnings of a worsening humanitarian crisis threatening the stability of the entire region.
