Every day we read news about violence against women. A woman stabbed her husband, forcing her daughter to be with men for money in İstanbul.  In Adana, a man called the police and said, “I shot my wife.” Elif Keskin has been missing for 11 days in Ankara.
News Center- Every day, we read news about violence against women, femicide, and women’s self-defense. A 17-year-old girl was forced to be with men for money by his father in İstanbul. Kibariye G. and Zafer G. have a 14-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter. The girl told her mother what she was subjected to. After hearing what happened to her daughter, Kibariye G. stabbed Zafer G. The woman attempted suicide. Kibariye G. and Zafer G. were taken to the hospital.  After her treatment at the hospital, Kibariye G. has been arrested.
‘I shot my wife’
A man living in Adana province called the police and said, “I shot my wife” by giving a wrong address to the police. Police found the house. The woman reportedly not wounded opened the door to the police officers. The man who had said 'I shot my wife' started laughing while being searched. The woman told police officers, “I divorced him two years ago, he lives close to my house. He sometimes comes and I am afraid of him.” The man has been taken into custody.
She was killed by a man she had broken up
A university student 22-year-old Aleyna Yurtkölesi was found dead in a flat in Pamukkale district of Denizli province. According to received reports, she was killed by Shayan Kheyrian she had refused. Shayan Kheyrian has been arrested. According to the autopsy, she was choked to death.
She has been missing for 11 days
22-year-old Elif Keskin living in the Yıldıztepe neighborhood of Ankara’s Altındağ district has been missing since December 31st. Her family hasn’t received any news from her since she left home in the morning. They have shared her photos on social media and asked for help from everyone. Women’s organizations and social media users have shown their solidarity in order to find Elif.
