Criminal complaint about strip search

 HDP Aydın Provincial Administrator Caize Yarıcı has filed a criminal complaint to the Public Prosecutor of Didim after being subjected to strip search twice.
News Center- On 14 February, 13 women, members, and administrators of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) were taken into custody after house raids. The women were released under judicial control on 17 February. The released four women announced that they had been subjected to strip search at Didim and Söke District Police Departments.
HDP Aydın Provincial Administrator Caize Yarıcı is one of the women subjected to strip search at Didim District Police Department. Caize Yarıcı has filed a criminal complaint to the Public Prosecutor of Didim. Caize Yarıcı said that police took her into a room and forced her to strip search while her house was searched.
“After being taken to Didim District Police Department, they kept us waiting for three hours. Then, two female and four male police officers took me to a room. The door was half-open and they told me to take off my clothes. I refused to take off my clothes but I was told, “We follow the procedure”. We were two persons in the room and we didn’t have a chance to talk with each other. They forced me to take off my clothes, even my underclothes. Then, I was told to sit down, stand up and jump three times. It was humiliating.”
Emphasizing that the strip search is a crime against humanity, Caize Yarıcı said she has filed a criminal complaint and that she will defend her rights to the end.
