News Center- The Free Union of Iranian Workers (FUIW) has announced that some of their female members were summoned to testify and threatened and three shops were closed down on the eve of the International Workers’ Day.

The statement issued by the union said that the board members of the union were summoned to testify by the security forces after the union called on all workers in the country to go on strike against “inhuman working conditions”.

According to the statement, Hajar Saeedi, Suzanne Razani and Habiba Karimi were among the activists who were summoned to testify and threatened. “They had previously been interrogated and arrested several times by security forces because of their trade union activities,” the statement said.

According to the local sources, three shops in Tehran’s Opal Shopping Center were closed down for not complying with the mandatory hijab and a lawsuit was filed against the owners of shops.
