Communication ban on women prisoners for commemorating those killed in Suruç
A communication ban has been imposed on five women prisoners, including lawyer Gülhan Kaya and ETHA editor Nadiye Gürbüz, for commemorating those killed in the Suruç Massacre.
News Center- A communication ban has been imposed on five women prisoners, including Gülhan Kaya, lawyer of the Suruç Families’ Initiative, and Etkin News Agency (ETHA) editor Nadiye Gürbüz for commemorating 33 people, who were killed in the suicide attack in the Suruç district of Riha (Urfa) by ISIS and staging a minute's silence for them.
According to the received reports, the administration of the Marmara No.9 Prison has imposed a communication ban on women. No information has been received about how long the ban will last.
The names of women subjected to the ban are: Gülhan Kaya, lawyer of the Suruç Families’ Initiative; Sinem Çelebi, board member of the Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF); ETHA editor Nadiye Gürbüz; Selvinaz Göçmez, member of the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) and Şükran Yaren Tuncer
