Coffin of Rojin Kabaiş carried by women

The coffin of Rojin Kabaiş, a university student whose dead body was found 18 days after she went missing in Van, was carried by women. She was buried at Yeniköy Cemetery in Amed (Diyarbakır).

Amed (Diyarbakır)- Rojin Kabaiş, a 21-year-old university student at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, went missing on September 27, 2024 in the city of Van after leaving her dormitory. Her dead body was discovered on the shore of Lake Van in the Mollakasım neighborhood in the Tuşba district of Van 18 days after she went missing.

Rojin Kabaiş was buried at the Yeniköy Cemetery located in the Rezan (Bağlar)district of Amed today. The coffin of Rojbin Kabaiş was carried by women to the cemetery.

Her funeral was attended by the members of the Free Women’s Movement (Kurdish: Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA), the Rosa Women’s Association, the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), Beycan Taşkıran, Deputy Co-Chair of the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (Turkish: Ezilenlerin Sosyalist Partisi, ESP), Co-mayors of the Amed Metropolitan Municipality, Co-mayors of Amed’s districts, Neslihan Şedal, Co-mayor of the Van Metropolitan Municipality and many citizens.
