Call on international organizations to monitor upcoming municipal elections in NE Syria

The High Election Commission of North and East Syria has released a statement calling on international governmental and non-governmental organizations to send election observers to monitor the municipal elections to be held on June 11.

News Center- The High Election Commission of North and East Syria has released a written statement calling on international governmental and non-governmental organizations to send election observers to monitor the municipal elections to be held on June 11, 2024.

“Based on the decision issued by the High Electoral Commission of the North and East Syria Region, registration has been opened, in addition to the distribution of electoral cards, and work continues to identify and name the polling centers,” the statement said.

The High Electoral Commission of North and East Syria aims to make the electoral process a success, “In order to maintain the integrity, transparency and independence of the elections. We call on international governmental and non-governmental organizations to monitor the electoral process that is supervised by the High Electoral Commission of the North and East Syria Region, as we are honored to invite you to participate in monitoring the electoral process.”

In the statement, the commission also listed its expectations from organizations as follows:

* Monitoring of the electoral process.

* Monitoring the opening of polling stations and ensuring their preparations for opening.

* Following up on the voting process and ensuring that appropriate conditions are provided for voters to cast their votes.

* Monitoring the vote counting and sorting process and ensuring its integrity.
