The campaign group released a statement and said, “We, as women, are witnesses of Aysel Tuğluk's struggle for women's rights, peace and democracy throughout her life.”
“Aysel Tuğluk’s release is blocked by political decisions”
In the statement, the campaign group pointed out that Aysel Tuğluk should be released immediately due to serious health problems that cannot be treated in the prison where she has been held since 2016, and added, “Aysel Tuğluk’s release is blocked by political decisions.”

“As 1000 Women for freedom to Aysel Tuğluk, we continue to emphasize our testimony and have been raising our voices for the release of Aysel Tuğluk for a long time. As women living across Turkey and the world, we will hold a press conference on April 22, 2022 at noon with the participation of speakers who will share information about Aysel Tuğluk. We call on you to participate in the press conference to strengthen women's solidarity and keep being in solidarity with Aysel Tuğluk and all sick prisoners,” the statement said.
