Building collapses in Beirut: 17 people still under rubble
A building collapsed in a southern suburb of Beirut on Monday, killing four people and injuring three others as search operations continued for more 17 people under the rubble.
News Center-On Monday evening, a four-story building collapsed in Choueifat, a southern suburb of Beirut after days of heavy rain in Lebanon. The collapsed building killed two women, a man and a child and injured three mothers, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported.
The search and rescue efforts for 17 people trapped under the rubble still continue. Local officials said the four-story building was not considered safe and the municipality had issued an evacuation order for it two years ago.
