At least 35 people were killed and 250 others injured on Monday after stormy rains hit eastern Afghanistan, according to local officials.
News center- The local officials of Afghanistan's Nangarhar province announced that at least 35 people were killed and 250 others injured on Monday after stormy rains hit eastern Afghanistan.
According to the official, five members of a family were killed when the roof of their house collapsed in the Surkh Rod district of the province and there is a possibility that casualties might rise. The injured and the bodies of the victims were brought to hospitals in the province.
Images shared by officials showed medical personnel giving treatment to the injured. The heavy rains affected Jalalabad and certain districts of Nangarhar province on Monday, damaging at least 400 houses in Nangarhar while electricity was out of service in the provincial capital of Jalalabad.
