News Center- Anti-government protests in the Drunze majority city of Sweida continue. On Sunday, dozens of people gathered at the Karama Square to protest Syria’s interim government led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), holding banners reading, “Jolani does not represent us”, “The killers in Daraa and coastal cities are the same” and “No to Turkish occupation”.
“Jolani does not represent the people; he only represents radical and terrorist ideas that serve backward interests,” said lawyers attending the protest. “He aims to take the country to the medieval age.” The lawyers called the interim government as a “false government” that does not represent the Syrian people.
The protesters emphasized that 12 ministries formed by the interim government “are hegemonic and control tools over the liberated regions, without taking notice of the citizens' expectations and wishes for justice and freedom.”
