News Center- On Saturday, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit Herat, a city of Afghanistan. 1,230 houses collapsed completely in the earthquake as the death toll keeps rising.

 Janan Sayeeq, spokesman for the Ministry of Disasters, announced on Sunday that 2,400 people were killed in the earthquake and he revised down the number of injured to more than 2,000. Earlier, he had said that 9,240 people had been injured.

He also said that they estimated that 200 people were trapped under rubble in villages. The search and rescue efforts continue in the country.
