“The countries around the world remain silent while Afghan people are being killed now,” Afghan women’s rights activist Mehmude Efgan told our news agency while talking about the Taliban’s advance in Afghanistan.

News Center- Thousands of Afghan people have left their country since the US and its NATO allies withdrew all troops from Afghanistan. In a country, where rights violations are ignored, women and children are forced into marriage by the Taliban. The Taliban members kill and rape women. They take the control of every city one by one without any obstacles. NuJINHA spoke to Mehmude Efgan, a women’s rights activist in Afghanistan, about the latest situation in Afghanistan, particularly the situation of Afghan women after the control of the Taliban.

Mentioning the secret alliance between the USA and the Taliban, Mehmude Efgan said, “These armed groups gain power through the USA to reach the gas resources coming from Central Asia to the country. The USA did nothing to prevent these exchanges. In order to get its diplomats and embassy members out of Afghanistan safely, the US sent its 3,000 forces to Kabul to control the Taliban under these war conditions. They sent these forces for the foundation of Taliban’s temporary state and to control its sovereignty.”

“Taliban will take the rights of women”

Mehmude Efgan also talked about the situation of women in the country. “Unfortunately, women face more serious situations. Afghan women and people suffered from the dark face of the Taliban when the Taliban controlled Afghanistan 25 years ago. The Taliban never give any rights to women. The Taliban will take women’s rights such as their right to education.”

“The citizens have no life safety”

We asked Mehmude Efgan whether international powers take any steps against the Taliban’s advance in Afghanistan. “International powers are just watching what is happening in Afghanistan for their interests. They don’t care about the lives of citizens and how many women are killed by the Taliban. Last week, thousands of people were killed by the Taliban and thousands of people left the country,” she answered our question.

“Countries remain silent while Afghan people are being killed”

Talking about the statement made in Berlin on the radical group and the situation of Afghan women, Mehmude Efgan said, “On Friday, we organized a march to protest the massacres carried out by the Taliban in the country. Numerous women and young people joined this march. We aimed to show the whole world that Afghanistan is a victim of terrorism. The states, which are just watching the killing of women, children, and civilians, are fueling the war in the region for their interests. They remain silent while Afghan people are being killed.”
