Adalet Kaya: The Third Way will be built by the joint struggle of the people

People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) MP Adalet Kaya commented on the Israel-Iran conflict, stating that authoritarian regimes act according to their own interests and “the solution is a Third Way.”

Amed- On June 13, Israel launched a “preemptive, precise, and combined strike” on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The conflict between Israel and Iran started when Iran responded to Israel’s attacks called the “Rising Lion” operation. Israel and Iran trade missile strikes as the conflict has entered its sixth day. In a statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that changing the Iranian regime could be a result of the Israeli operation.

The Israel-Iran conflict continues, it will kill and displace civilians, causing economic crises, an increase in crimes against humanity, and environmental destruction.

‘War causes destruction’

The ongoing violence, tension and conflict in the Middle East has entered a new phase following Israel's attacks on Iran, said People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) MP Adalet Kaya. “We have been witnessing an intensified conflict. If this conflict is not stopped, it will cause the death of civilians, displacement and the destruction of historical heritage sites and the environment. The extension of the conflict means an increase in civilian casualties, and a growing risk of hunger.”

Adalet Kaya also talked about the ongoing tragedy in the Gaza Strip, stressing that if the Israel-Iran conflict deepens and spreads to other regions, it will cause crises. “If the conflict intensifies, millions of people may be displaced from their homes, leading to a new wave of refugee crises. As the people of this region (Middle East), we know how fragile the regional economy is. An economic collapse will cause a rise in unemployment, social unrest and insecurity. This conflict could trigger a new wave of chaos in neighboring countries such as Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, spreading to the Gulf and the Mediterranean. The challenges and traumas caused by the conflict can deepen polarization and divisions in society.”

Adalet Kaya thinks that the Iranian regime’s repression and executions against its own people have weakened popular support against external attacks. “This conflict has the potential to be one of the greatest disasters in human history.”

‘Authoritarian regimes act according to their own interests’

Authoritarian regimes act according to their own interests, Adalet Kaya stressed, adding:

“We know that both Iran and Israel are authoritarian regimes that act according to their own interests without promising a future for the oppressed people. Iran implements a policy of oppression and execution against Kurdish people, women and revolutionaries. Iran's expansionist policies and sectarian approach in the region cannot gain the support of the Kurds. Israel's occupying and racist policies do not promise a free life to the Middle Eastern people. Therefore, a Third Way is the only solution for the Middle Eastern people.”

The Third Way is decentralization, the transfer of authority and decision-making from a central government to local institutions, Adalet Kaya said, stressing that the Middle East needs this system. "The equal participation of people from different ethnic and religious groups is needed to build this system. Arab people in Israel, Jewish people in Palestine, and Kurdish and Azeri people in Iran should have their own education and legal system and enjoy their own culture. The Third Way is a ‘united peace’ that will be built by the joint struggle of the people, not missiles.”
