News Center - On July 5, Jordanians woke up to a horrific crime committed by a man. The man killed his two daughters by using a stick and buried them inside his house.

On July 3, an Arab woman went to the Police Directorate and said that she feared for the lives of her children, who lived with their father in the Ramtha Brigade in the Irbid governorate, northern Jordan.

The spokesperson of the Ramtha Police Directorate said in the statement that they went to the scene as soon as they got the information about the crime and they found dead bodies of two children buried inside the house.

According to the statements of his other two children, their father had buried their sisters inside the house after beating them with a stick and killing them. The killed sisters were reportedly nine and 12 years old.

The spokesperson reported that the public prosecutor and the forensic doctor were immediately notified, and the bodies of the two girls were taken out and transferred to the institute of forensic medicine, while the other two children were sent to the hospital for detection and follow-up of their health and psychological condition.

Jordan has recently witnessed several crimes according to the figures of the Directorate of the National Institute of Forensic Medicine. About 103 people were murdered and 167 more committed suicide in Jordan last year.

The Criminal Statistical report for the 2021 revealed that the number of murder and misdemeanors cases were 1087, 5.18% of the total crimes.
