A call from Syrian women to the UN

Center for Research and Protection of Women’s Rights in Syria celebrates all women’s International Women’s Day and calls on the UN to, “Prosecute those who commit war crimes against women and children in accordance with international laws.”
News Center- Center for Research and Protection of Women’s Rights in Syria has issued a written statement for International Women’s Day. In the statement, the center celebrates all women’s International Women’s Day and states that they will struggle until peace and equality for women are achieved in society. Highlighting the ongoing war and rights violations in the region, the statement says, “In prisons and refugee camps, women live under inhumane and hard conditions. We will keep revealing crimes against women, making women’s voices heard, and claiming their rights. We will be in touch with the regional and international organizations to prosecute the criminals who committed the dirtiest crimes against women and looted our land across Northern and Eastern Syria.”
The center also calls on the United Nations (UN) and says; “On the occasion of International Women's Day, we celebrate the achievements and successes of women and we call on the regional and international legal organizations and political parties, in particular, Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), and Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women to fulfill the follow ing demands;
“*End the crisis and occupation in Syrian.
* Prosecute those who commit war crimes against women and children in accordance with international law.
*Push the parties to release women held in prisons in Syria.
* Guarantee the safe return of migrants and refugees to their lands
* Find political solutions for the situation of women and their children staying in Hol and Roj camps and ensure their return to their countries.”
