The sit-in protest held by Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar demanding justice has entered its 74th day.
Riha- Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız just before the general elections took place in Turkey on June 24, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have held a sit-in protest in front of Urfa Courthouse demanding justice for their killed relatives for 74 days.
Yesterday, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar were taken into custody but then released in the same day. Emine Şenyaşar today stated that police prevent people from visiting them to support them. “We have held the protest for about three months. I am looking for the killers of my children. There is no state or justice but cruelty. Where should we go? Should we kill ourselves? They (police) batter us.”
The Şenyaşar family posted images of their detention moment on their social media account, “Despite all attacks and detentions, we will keep holding our protest in front of Şanlıurfa Courthouse. We will not remain silent. We will not give up. We will resist for justice.”
