Şenyaşar family to keep holding their sit-in protest during Eid al-Fitr holiday
Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have demanded justice for their killed relatives in front of the Urfa Courthouse for 415 days.
Riha - The sit-in protest started in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out on June 14, 2018, in the Suruç district of Urfa province by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, has continued on its 415 days.
Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar came in front of the Urfa Courthouse in the morning to keep holding their sit-in protest.
Speaking about the Eid al-Fitr holiday, Emine Şenyaşar said, “We will be in front of the courthouse during the Eid al-Fitr holiday. I will keep coming in front of the courthouse until my son is released from prison. The courthouse becomes my home. My children and grandchildren are not with me to celebrate the holiday, for this reason, I will spend the holiday in front of the courthouse. The records of the hospital should be found, the perpetrators should be arrested. My family members weren’t killed by one or two persons, but many people. They should be punished. Why were they released? I cannot sit at home until my son Fadıl is released from prison. I will not go home at night. I will stay and sleep here. My son should be released now.”
“We demand total justice”
“Justice cannot be deficient, we demand total justice. Everyone across the country has learned the truth. An organized massacre was carried out at the hospital. Why are the records of security cameras of the hospital hidden from us and the public?” the Şenyaşar family posted today on their social media account.
