Şenyaşar family’s sit-in protest enters its 437th day

The Şenyaşar family has been holding a sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse demanding justice for their killed relatives for 437 days.

Riha - The sit-in protest started in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out on June 14, 2018, in the Suruç district of Urfa province by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, continues on its 437th day.

Since courthouses are closed today due to the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, an annual Turkish national holiday, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar demand justice for their relatives at their home in the Suruç district of Urfa province.

“We beg for what is our right. There is a crime committed against humanity. Those who committed this crime hide behind the ruling party. How will those who remain silent against persecution go out in public?” the Şenyaşar family posted today on their social media account.
