News Center- Yazidis annually celebrate the Yazidi New Year, also called Çarşema Sor (English: Red Wednesday). The Yazidis living in the Bacînê neighborhood of Mardin’s Mîdyad district celebrated Çarşema Sor yesterday. While the people living in neighboring villages participated in the celebration, Beritan Güneş, the parliamentary candidate of the Party of Greens and the Left Future, abbreviated as Green Left Party, and the party members also participated in the celebration. Wearing their traditional clothes, Yazidi women and men hosted the guests while some Yazidis celebrated Çarşema Sor with their families in the mountainous area.

At the celebration, speeches were made and shells of the colored eggs were broken. After the speeches, the Yazidi continued to celebrate Çarşema Sor.
